Codebreaker Turned Visionary: My Product Journey

The emergence of AI products ignites the need for AI Product Managers in the industry. For the past 5 years I have developed products crafting code that powers user experiences. Somewhere along the way, I craved more than just building the engine – I wanted to steer the ship. Enters product management that enables me to understand not just ‘How’, but also the ‘Why’ behind it. My dual Masters - MS in Product Management (Carnegie Mellon University) and MS in Computer Science specialized in AI/ML (University at Buffalo), equips me to bridge the gap between product and engineering.

At Amazon Music, I contributed to the team that expanded the amazon music library from 2 million to a whopping 100 million songs [ref]. The result? A surge in listening time and a daily active user increase of 8.6%! My hands-on experience at industry giants like Amazon Music, Audible, Esri and other notable names, has endowed me with a robust technical foundation and an insider’s view of what makes a great product tick.

I'm a product visionary with a developer's edge. Let's build something amazing together.

I helped in building a robust integration test framework from the ground up. Wielding Java, REST Assured, Gradle, and TestNG like a coding wizard, I crafted a system that automated 30% of standalone API testing. This wasn't just magic, it was the foundation for establishing bulletproof CI/CD pipelines, ensuring future Esri applications hit the ground running. This project was about the power of automation to streamline development and deliver rock-solid software, faster than ever before.

    Software Developer

    NEC Technologies Private Limited

    Location: Noida, In-Person

At NEC Technologies, I played a triple threat role in revolutionizing energy management. First, I built the brains of the operation – a robust Python backend framework that processed data for visualizing power grid systems. Then, I donned my designer hat, crafting user-friendly UI wireframes in Balsamiq to ensure the dashboards were intuitive and clear. Finally, I championed efficiency by developing RESTful web services with Flask for AEROS Command. But the story doesn't end there! I identified a gap in incident reporting and bridged it by building and integrating an Incident Management System with AEROS (NEC's energy management software) and JIRA. I spearheaded the development of 5 cloud-based dashboards that empowered system managers to gain real-time insights into electrical grids leading to a slashed incident detection time by a significant 27%, ensuring a smoother and more responsive energy grid.

At Tech Mahindra, I tackled a challenging project to streamline the testing process for AT&T's BBNMS-LS system by crafting a utility application that championed efficiency. I designed and developed a utility application that automated tedious tasks like analysis, validation, and reporting of test cases run by testers. This application included features like dynamic XML generation and error logging, that significantly reduced turnaround time and helped pinpoint issues faster. I also designed scripts for an AI chatbot capable of answering system information queries. This innovative solution not only freed up valuable tester time but also boosted overall productivity by a significant 21%.
